In April 2013, Bobby Smith returned for the official Hope for Lives in Sierra Leone Library unveiling. The opening was attended by officials from the government of Sierra Leone as well as teachers, staff and some students from St. Anthony’s School. With the help of the school, Bobby set up a system for checking out books so that many kids can enjoy them.

We have collected many more books to send to our library, but desperately need cash donations to help send the drums to Sierra Leone. Bobby took the opportunity of the library opening to distribute hundreds of pairs of shoes to school kids (adult shoes too!), which were generously donated by Shoe Train in Potomac, Maryland, USA. They do a lot of walking in Sierra Leone. Thanks to Shoe Train and their customers for their ongoing program of shoe donations!

Bobby also had time to visit Connaught Hospital in Freetown. See the photo gallery.
