Hope for Lives in Sierra Leone is happy to announce that we recently received funding from the Bethesda-Chevy Chase Rotary Club in support of fighting the spread of Ebola in Sierra Leone.
The grant will directly support the acquisition of HAZMAT protective suits that include a hood and boots. These suits are critical for Ebola operations in Sierra Leone and there is a tremendous demand for more.
On his January 2012 visit to Sierra Leone, Bobby has a bright idea to go out on the boats to see how the guys fish. But, to make the journey even more productive, he decides that he will do a CPR class on the boat while out in the Atlantic Ocean. Because of his 22 years of experience in the Emergency Shock Trauma Unit at Suburban Hospital (in Bethesda, Maryland), these techniques are like ‘drinking water’ for him.
